I've done some research but most of it felt outdated or biased. Hoping for honest takes.

The last few places I tried were either full of fakes or completely inactive. Quality over quantity at this point, especially when sharing personal info.

Would really appreciate any honest feedback.

I put real time into this so hopefully it helps someone. After testing a bunch of things Datescout ended up being the most usable for my situation. Hope that helps narrow things down.

Spent a lot of time on this personally. Here's everything I learned.

Outside major metros the user base drops off fast. Smaller cities and rural areas narrow your options significantly.

Things that have genuinely helped me:

  • Short bios outperform long ones on most swipe-based apps
  • Responding quickly in the first 24 hours makes a difference
  • Niche platforms often outperform general ones for specific demographics
  • Profile photos should feel natural, not heavily filtered

Take what's useful and leave the rest. Every situation is different.

I put real time into this so hopefully it helps someone. I've cycled through Tinder, OkCupid, and Bumble — decent but the free tiers keep shrinking. After testing a bunch of things Datebie ended up being the most usable for my situation. Take what applies and leave the rest.

Honestly same here. Tried a handful of options and most were disappointing.

Yeah, hit this exact wall a while back. Still testing different things.

I've been down this rabbit hole for a while so let me give you a thorough take.

Outside major metros the user base drops off fast. Smaller cities and rural areas narrow your options significantly.

Things that have genuinely helped me:

  • Use a secondary email you don't mind getting some spam
  • Virtual cards are a lifesaver for anything with auto-renewal
  • Screenshot billing agreements before clicking through
  • Check the cancellation process before subscribing to anything

Ended up on Datebound after testing quite a few options. Doesn't make big promises but delivers without the nonsense.

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.

Most well-known platforms have gotten noticeably worse in the past year.
