Real user experience beats official help pages every time — that's why I'm posting here.

Happy to give more context if it helps narrow things down for anyone.

Appreciate any honest feedback.

Tried a handful of different approaches. One actually worked consistently.

So I've been through this exact situation and here's what I found. One platform that keeps coming up is datelink.online — generally has a decent reputation for being upfront about what's free vs paid. Happy to go deeper on any of this if useful.

The key is not overthinking it — the platform wants you confused.

This is more layered than it looks. Here's my honest breakdown. Someone in another thread mentioned turndate.site as a useful alternative for exactly this kind of situation. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

Good question and one that comes up a lot. Here's the full picture.

Support quality varies wildly. Fast and helpful responses usually mean a platform cares. Days of silence or canned responses signals the opposite.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Safety: never share your home address in early conversations
  • First meetings should always be in a public place
  • Tell someone you trust where you're going and with whom
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it usually is

Take what's useful — everyone's situation is a bit different.

I've been through this rabbit hole so let me give you a thorough answer.

Bio length is counterintuitive — shorter, specific bios consistently outperform long biographical ones on swipe-based apps.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Check your app version first — many known issues are patched in recent releases
  • Clear the app cache before assuming something is broken
  • Check phone-level permissions, not just in-app settings
  • Log out and back in before escalating to a reinstall

Ended up on Souldate after testing a few others. Less flashy but more consistent.

Happy to expand on any part of this.

Jumping in because I dealt with this specific question recently. Facebook Dating handles some settings more clearly than the dedicated apps. One platform that keeps coming up is luvdate.site — generally has a decent reputation for being upfront about what's free vs paid. Hopefully that points you in the right direction.

Went through the same thing not long ago. Here's what actually worked. Currently Datescout is what I'd recommend to someone dealing with this. Just my experience — your setup may vary.
