Wade makes a fair point but I read it differently. whether it leads anywhere is what separates a good week from a wasted one with need date.
Two people can have opposite results with need date purely because of keeping things private. I would put how much of it is real above almost everything else when it comes to need date.
What decided it for me with need date was the caution people forget.
The signal-to-noise ratio is what separates a good week from a wasted one with need date.
The rules I settled on for need date:
- fill the profile out properly, not half way when it comes to need date
- check how active your area is before you invest time before you judge need date
- set aside ten days before deciding anything about need date
- keep expectations low for the first fortnight while you are testing need date
Hope that gives you something usable for need a date more now than I did in my 20s.
For what it is worth, Turndate lately handled need date better than most.
