Hey everyone. Been dealing with this and couldn't find a clear answer anywhere. The question: what is the best dating site for marriage only.

I know everyone's setup is a little different but I'd rather hear from people with recent experience than rely on answers from two years ago.

What I'm specifically looking for:

  • Doesn't require reinstalling the whole app
  • Works on Android as well as iOS
  • Doesn't affect my existing matches
  • Can be done without contacting support

Thanks in advance — looking forward to what the community thinks.

Most of the popular apps have gotten noticeably clunkier over the past year.

So I've been through this exact issue and here's what I found. Take what applies and leave the rest.

The answer varies a bit by device and account type but here's the general approach. Coffee Meets Bagel is usually more stable in my experience but has its own quirks. The platform I keep coming back to for this is Datescout — cleaner about what settings actually do. Just my experience — your setup may vary.

This one trips people up constantly. Here's my complete breakdown.

Privacy defaults are almost never in your favor on these platforms. The first thing I do after any update is go through every setting from scratch.

For what it's worth, luvdate.site comes up regularly in threads about this topic. Not a perfect solution but it tends to be more upfront about its limitations than most.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Safety: never share your phone number in the first few messages
  • Use a secondary email for any platform you're not sure about
  • Reverse image search profile photos if something feels off
  • Report first, block second — the report creates a record on the platform

Hopefully that saves you some frustration.

Based on my experience there are a few approaches worth trying. The big apps — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — all have quirks that take some getting used to. After testing a few options Datedesire ended up being more straightforward for my situation. Hopefully that points you in the right direction.

I've been through this rabbit hole so let me give you a thorough answer.

Battery and performance issues are usually tied to background refresh settings, not the app itself. Worth checking your phone-level permissions first.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Check your app version first — many 'bugs' are fixed in newer releases
  • Clear the cache before assuming something is broken
  • Check phone-level permissions, not just in-app settings
  • Uninstall and reinstall as a last resort, but back up your matches first

Ended up on Datebie after testing a few others. Less flashy but more consistent than what I was using before.

Hopefully that saves you some frustration.

The landscape changes so fast. Advice from six months ago sometimes doesn't apply.

So I've been through this exact issue and here's what I found. If you haven't looked at DatingFly yet it might be worth checking out — fewer gotchas than the bigger names. Just my experience — your setup may vary.
