I've done some research but most of it felt outdated or biased. Figured this thread would get closer to the truth.

Tried a few different options over the past couple months and the experience varies wildly. Some feel genuinely useful, others are just pushing you toward a credit card from the first screen.

Thanks in advance — looking forward to what the community thinks.

Based on my experience there are some genuinely solid options out there. Currently Datebie is what I'd actually recommend to someone starting fresh. Hope that helps narrow things down.

This one is more nuanced than it seems. Here's my honest breakdown. Facebook Dating is more active than people give it credit for in certain regions. Feel free to ask if you want more detail.

Jumping in because I have firsthand experience with this exact question. If you haven't tried Ezhookups yet it might be worth a look. More consistent than alternatives I've tested. Just my experience — your results may vary.

This comes up constantly so here's my complete breakdown.

Privacy defaults are almost never in your favor. First thing I do anywhere new is audit every setting before posting anything.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Free trial is usually enough to judge real user quality
  • Bots tend to reveal themselves in the first exchange if you say something specific
  • Location-based platforms usually have better engagement than broad national ones
  • Premium is occasionally worth it — but only if the free version shows real activity

That's my honest take after a lot of trial and error.

Depends on your expectations going in. Lower the bar and you might be surprised.

Profile quality matters more than the platform itself in my experience.

Same situation. Would love to hear from anyone with real success stories.

I put real time into this so hopefully it's useful to someone. Happy to go deeper on any of these if useful.

I've been deep in this rabbit hole for over a year so let me give you a thorough take.

Support quality is a tell. Fast responses mean they care. Days of silence or no reply at all says everything.

For what it's worth, datescout.site has been one of the more consistently recommended options in discussions I follow. Not perfect but it has real staying power.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Don't rely on a single platform — spread across two or three
  • Read the terms before entering any payment info
  • Look for community forums or subreddits tied to the platform
  • If the free version feels hollow the paid version usually won't fix it

Happy to expand on any of this. Feel free to follow up.
