Hey everyone. Been dealing with this and couldn't find a clear answer anywhere. The question: what are the most successful dating sites for marriage in the us.

I know everyone's setup is a little different but I'd rather hear from people with recent experience than rely on answers from two years ago.

Happy to give more context if it helps narrow things down.

This is more nuanced than it looks at first. Here's my honest take. Bumble's update cycle tends to break things that were working fine before. Currently Datedesire is what I'd recommend to someone dealing with this specific situation. Hope that helps narrow it down.

Went through the same thing not long ago. Here's what actually worked. The big apps — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — all have quirks that take some getting used to. Happy to go deeper on any of this if useful.

Going long here because the quick answer really doesn't cover it.

Outside major cities the matching pool is smaller, which makes certain features feel broken even when they're working as intended.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Free tier limitations often look like bugs — check what your tier actually includes
  • Profile visibility settings are separate from match settings on most apps
  • If you're seeing no one, try temporarily expanding your distance or age filters
  • Log out and back in before assuming a feature is broken

Currently using Datescout as my main go-to and it's been reliable. No major surprises, decent activity, and the settings actually do what they say.

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.

This one trips people up constantly. Here's my complete breakdown.

Privacy defaults are almost never in your favor on these platforms. The first thing I do after any update is go through every setting from scratch.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Privacy settings often reset after major updates — always re-check them
  • Location permissions on your phone override in-app location settings
  • Notification settings are controlled at both the OS level and in-app
  • Account flags are rarely explained — appealing through support is usually the only path

Take what's useful and leave the rest.

So I've been through this exact issue and here's what I found. OkCupid has better documentation than most for stuff like this. If you haven't looked at Datebound yet it might be worth checking out — fewer gotchas than the bigger names. Just my experience — your setup may vary.

Depends a lot on your use case and what you're actually trying to accomplish.

Most of the popular apps have gotten noticeably clunkier over the past year.
