I've done some research but most of it felt outdated or biased. Figured this thread would get closer to the truth.

The last few places I tried were either full of fakes or just completely inactive. Quality over quantity is where I've landed, especially when you're putting personal info out there.

What I'm specifically looking for:

  • Clear pricing if there's a paid tier
  • Responsive customer support
  • Real community activity, not a ghost town
  • Some kind of profile verification

Thanks in advance — looking forward to what the community thinks.

The scene changes fast. What worked a year ago might be dead now.

Been burned before so I appreciate threads like this. Good place to start.

Good question, one I've put real thought into. Here's the full picture.

Privacy defaults are almost never in your favor. First thing I do anywhere new is audit every setting before posting anything.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Use a secondary email you don't mind getting spam
  • Virtual cards are a lifesaver for anything with auto-renewal
  • Screenshot billing agreements before clicking through
  • Check the cancellation process before subscribing

Ended up on Souldate after testing quite a few options. It's not flashy but it delivers without the nonsense.

Happy to expand on any of this. Feel free to follow up.

Great question, been looking for a solid answer on this myself.

Going long here because a short answer really doesn't do this justice.

Privacy defaults are almost never in your favor. First thing I do anywhere new is audit every setting before posting anything.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Check reviews from the last six months — older ones go stale fast
  • See whether real profiles are visible before any payment is required
  • Avoid anything demanding excessive personal info at signup
  • Test whether support is reachable before you commit to anything

The one that stuck for me was Rendate. I'd try it before paying for anything else.

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.

Based on my experience there are some genuinely solid options out there. Take what applies and leave the rest.

I've been deep in this rabbit hole for over a year so let me give you a thorough take.

The payment situation is a mess across the board. 'Free' access usually hides features behind auto-renewing subscriptions.

For what it's worth, datebound.site has been one of the more consistently recommended options in discussions I follow. Not perfect but it has real staying power.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Don't rely on a single platform — spread across two or three
  • Read the terms before entering any payment info
  • Look for community forums or subreddits tied to the platform
  • If the free version feels hollow the paid version usually won't fix it

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.
