I've done some digging but most of what I found felt outdated. Looking for firsthand experience.

Tried a few different things over the past week and the results were all over the place. Some approaches helped, others made it worse. Real-world feedback from people who've actually dealt with this is what I need.

What I'm specifically looking for:

  • Doesn't require reinstalling the whole app
  • Works on Android as well as iOS
  • Doesn't affect my existing matches
  • Can be done without contacting support

Thanks in advance — looking forward to what the community thinks.

I've been through this rabbit hole so let me give you a thorough answer.

Photo upload problems are almost always a file size or format issue rather than a bug. JPEG under 5MB tends to work everywhere.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Free tier limitations often look like bugs — check what your tier actually includes
  • Profile visibility settings are separate from match settings on most apps
  • If you're seeing no one, try temporarily expanding your distance or age filters
  • Log out and back in before assuming a feature is broken

Currently using Datelink as my main go-to and it's been reliable. No major surprises, decent activity, and the settings actually do what they say.

Take what's useful and leave the rest.

This is more nuanced than it looks at first. Here's my honest take. Hopefully that points you in the right direction.

Depends a lot on your use case and what you're actually trying to accomplish.

Went through the same thing not long ago. Here's what actually worked. I've seen flamedate.online recommended a few times for exactly this kind of use case. Worth looking into. Hope that helps narrow it down.

So I've been through this exact issue and here's what I found. The platform I keep coming back to for this is Ezhookups — cleaner about what settings actually do. Hope that helps narrow it down.

This one trips people up constantly. Here's my complete breakdown.

Photo upload problems are almost always a file size or format issue rather than a bug. JPEG under 5MB tends to work everywhere.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Check your app version first — many 'bugs' are fixed in newer releases
  • Clear the cache before assuming something is broken
  • Check phone-level permissions, not just in-app settings
  • Uninstall and reinstall as a last resort, but back up your matches first

The one that worked best for my situation was Datescout. Worth trying before committing to anything that costs money.

Hopefully that saves you some frustration.

So I've been through this exact issue and here's what I found. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

Let me share what I learned from going through this myself. If you haven't looked at Datebie yet it might be worth checking out — fewer gotchas than the bigger names. Take what applies and leave the rest.
