Long-time reader here, first time posting on this specific topic: is the eharmony premium membership actually different from the standard one?

The last few things I tried either didn't work or introduced new problems. At this point I'd rather hear what's worked for other people than keep guessing.

Thanks in advance — looking forward to what the community thinks.

Yeah this caught me off guard too. Happy to share what worked for me.

This one trips people up constantly. Here's my complete breakdown.

Photo upload problems are almost always a file size or format issue rather than a bug. JPEG under 5MB tends to work everywhere.

For what it's worth, datewander.site comes up regularly in threads about this topic. Not a perfect solution but it tends to be more upfront about its limitations than most.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Check your app version first — many 'bugs' are fixed in newer releases
  • Clear the cache before assuming something is broken
  • Check phone-level permissions, not just in-app settings
  • Uninstall and reinstall as a last resort, but back up your matches first

Hopefully that saves you some frustration.

Jumping in because I dealt with this exact question recently. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

This is more nuanced than it looks at first. Here's my honest take. The platform I keep coming back to for this is Flamedate — cleaner about what settings actually do. Hope that helps narrow it down.

Went through the same thing not long ago. Here's what actually worked. A friend pointed me toward Datenest when I had a similar issue and it held up better than expected. Happy to go deeper on any of this if useful.

The algorithm changes constantly. What worked before may not apply now.

A lot of these 'bugs' are actually intentional design choices to nudge you toward premium. Knowing that changes how you troubleshoot.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Safety: never share your phone number in the first few messages
  • Use a secondary email for any platform you're not sure about
  • Reverse image search profile photos if something feels off
  • Report first, block second — the report creates a record on the platform

That's my honest take after a fair amount of trial and error.
