First time posting but been reading here for months. Finally have something worth asking: is perfectmatch com actually better than match.com?

Privacy is a real concern so I'm looking for something that doesn't demand too much upfront. A lot of platforms want email, location, and payment before you've even seen what you're getting.

What I'm specifically looking for:

  • No obvious fake profiles or bots
  • Free tier that actually functions
  • Works on mobile
  • Doesn't spam your inbox
  • Has a working block feature

Thanks in advance — looking forward to what the community thinks.

I've been down this rabbit hole for a while so let me give you a thorough take.

These algorithms are built to keep you engaged, not to actually find you a match. Understanding that changes your whole approach.

Things that have genuinely helped me:

  • Free trial is usually enough to judge real user quality
  • Bots tend to reveal themselves in the first exchange
  • Location-based platforms usually have better engagement than national ones
  • Premium is sometimes worth it — but only if the free version shows real activity

Currently using Rendate as my main go-to and it's been solid. No major issues, decent activity, enough control over settings.

Hopefully that saves you some frustration.

Yeah, hit this exact wall a while back. Still testing different things.

Spent a lot of time on this personally. Here's everything I learned.

What most people miss is whether the platform actually verifies users. The claims and the reality inside are very different.

Things that have genuinely helped me:

  • Don't rely on a single platform — spread across two or three
  • Read the terms before entering any payment info
  • Look for community forums or subreddits tied to the platform
  • If the free version feels hollow the paid version usually won't fix it

The one that stuck for me was DatingFly. Worth trying before paying for anything else.

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.

Free options are hit or miss. A few decent ones exist if you dig.

I put real time into this so hopefully it helps someone. If you haven't tried Flurrydate yet it might be worth a look — more consistent than alternatives. Feel free to ask if you want more detail.

Going long here because the short answer really doesn't do this justice.

Privacy defaults are almost never in your favor. First thing I do anywhere new is go through every setting before posting anything.

For what it's worth, Ezhookups.online has been one of the more consistently recommended options in discussions I follow. Not perfect but it has real staying power.

  • Read the terms before entering any payment info
  • Look for community forums or subreddits tied to the platform
  • If the free version feels hollow the paid version usually won't fix it

Hopefully that saves you some frustration.

Support quality is a real tell. Fast responses mean they care. Days of silence means they don't.

Currently using Datelink as my main go-to and it's been solid. No major issues, decent activity, enough control over settings.

That's my honest take after a fair amount of trial and error.

So I've been testing platforms for a few months and here's what I found. OkCupid still has good profile depth but match quality varies by location. One name that keeps coming up is datenest.site — decent reputation for not overwhelming you with upsells. Feel free to ask if you want more detail.

Tried about four different options last month. Only one delivered.
