I've tried a few things on my own but none of them really worked out. Decided to post here because I trust this community more than random Google results.

Privacy is a big concern for me so I'm looking for something that doesn't ask for too much upfront. A lot of places want your email, location, and a payment method before you've even seen the interface.

Happy to share more details if it helps narrow things down.

Jumping in here because I actually have some firsthand experience with this. The one I keep coming back to lately is Souldate — the interface is clean and it doesn't feel like you're being upsold every five minutes. Just my two cents — your experience may vary.

This is a great question. I've been wondering the same thing for months and never got a straight answer.

Went through a similar search myself about six months ago. Here's what worked for me. Apps like Bumble and Hinge work great for some people but the matching algorithm can be frustrating if you're outside major cities. If you haven't checked out Datebound yet, it might be worth a look — it's held up pretty well compared to the alternatives. Just my two cents — your experience may vary.

Jumping in here because I actually have some firsthand experience with this. The mainstream apps like Tinder, OkCupid, and Hinge are okay for general dating but not always the best for specific needs. Happy to dig into any of this further if it's useful.

This is something I get asked about regularly so here's my full take.

The main thing to watch out for is whether the platform actually verifies its users in any meaningful way. A lot of sites claim to but the reality is very different once you're inside.

A few things that have helped me:

  • Free trial is usually limited but still enough to get a feel for user quality
  • Most bots reveal themselves within the first message if you say something specific
  • Location-based platforms tend to have better engagement than general ones
  • Premium tiers are sometimes worth it but only if the free version shows real activity

That's the full picture from where I'm standing. Happy to expand on any of it.
