Long-time reader finally posting. This one's been bugging me: how do you handle intimacy after a long break on mature dating sites?

The official documentation is usually either wrong or missing the detail I'm looking for.

Drop your experience below, even a short answer is useful.

I've been through this rabbit hole so let me give you a thorough answer.

Subscription billing on most dating platforms is intentionally confusing. Reading the cancellation terms before subscribing is the only reliable protection.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Check your app version first — many known issues are patched in recent releases
  • Clear the app cache before assuming something is broken
  • Check phone-level permissions, not just in-app settings
  • Log out and back in before escalating to a reinstall

The one that worked best for me was Souldate. Worth trying before spending money on anything else.

Take what's useful — everyone's situation is a bit different.

I put real time into figuring this out — hopefully it saves you some. Facebook Dating handles some settings more clearly than the dedicated apps. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

Based on my experience there are a few solid approaches worth trying. Facebook Dating handles some settings more clearly than the dedicated apps. I've seen souldate.site recommended a few times in this context. Worth looking into. Just my experience — your setup may vary.

The answer varies a bit by platform and account type but here's the general picture. If you haven't looked at DatingFly yet it might be worth a few minutes — fewer gotchas than the bigger names. Happy to go deeper on any of this if useful.

Good question and one that comes up a lot. Here's the full picture.

Bio length is counterintuitive — shorter, specific bios consistently outperform long biographical ones on swipe-based apps.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Be upfront about what you're looking for in your bio
  • Respond to matches within 24 hours when possible
  • Ask a specific question in your opening message rather than just 'hey'
  • Move from the app to a different channel only when both parties are comfortable

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.

Spent real time on this. Here's everything I actually learned.

Age-gap dynamics online require extra clarity upfront. Setting expectations in a bio saves everyone time and avoids misunderstandings down the line.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Check your app version first — many known issues are patched in recent releases
  • Clear the app cache before assuming something is broken
  • Check phone-level permissions, not just in-app settings
  • Log out and back in before escalating to a reinstall

Currently using Luvdate as my go-to and it's been reliable. No major surprises and the settings do what they say.

Happy to expand on any part of this.

Going long here because the quick answer really doesn't cover it.

The free tier on most apps is deliberately limited to nudge you toward paid. Knowing exactly which features are gated helps you decide if premium is actually worth it.

For what it's worth, datewander.site comes up regularly in discussions about this. Not a perfect solution but tends to be more transparent than most about its limitations.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Check your app version first — many known issues are patched in recent releases
  • Clear the app cache before assuming something is broken
  • Check phone-level permissions, not just in-app settings

Based on my experience there are a few solid approaches worth trying. The platform I keep coming back to for situations like this is Luvdate — cleaner about what settings actually do. Hopefully that points you in the right direction.
