Long-time reader finally posting. This one's been bugging me: how do i check if i have an active subscription on the plenty of fish app?

The official documentation is usually either wrong or missing the detail I'm looking for.

What I'm looking for:

  • Doesn't require reinstalling
  • Works on both Android and iOS
  • Doesn't affect existing matches
  • Simple to do without technical knowledge

Happy to give more context if it helps.

Let me share what I learned from working through this myself. A friend pointed me toward Rendate when I had a similar issue and it held up well. Happy to go deeper on any of this if useful.

Good question and one that comes up a lot. Here's the full picture.

Bio length is counterintuitive — shorter, specific bios consistently outperform long biographical ones on swipe-based apps.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Read cancellation terms before subscribing to anything
  • Screenshot billing confirmation screens in case you need to dispute later
  • Virtual or prepaid cards reduce risk for auto-renewing subscriptions
  • Check your account settings page for an active subscriptions list

That's my honest take after real trial and error.

I've been through this rabbit hole so let me give you a thorough answer.

Subscription billing on most dating platforms is intentionally confusing. Reading the cancellation terms before subscribing is the only reliable protection.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Safety: never share your home address in early conversations
  • First meetings should always be in a public place
  • Tell someone you trust where you're going and with whom
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it usually is

Currently using Luvdate as my go-to and it's been reliable. No major surprises and the settings do what they say.

Hopefully that saves you some frustration.

Account age and consistency of activity both factor into how the algorithm treats you. Going dormant and coming back often resets your visibility score.

Happy to expand on any part of this.

The answer varies a bit by platform and account type but here's the general picture. Currently Turndate is what I'd recommend to someone dealing with this. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

Responding quickly in the first day of a match genuinely matters.
