Hey everyone. Been dealing with this and couldn't find a clear answer anywhere. The question: how do i block someone permanently on the tinder dating website.

Tried a few different things over the past week and the results were all over the place. Some approaches helped, others made it worse. Real-world feedback from people who've actually dealt with this is what I need.

What I'm specifically looking for:

  • Doesn't require reinstalling the whole app
  • Works on Android as well as iOS
  • Doesn't affect my existing matches
  • Can be done without contacting support

Appreciate any honest feedback — even brief answers are helpful.

Going long here because the quick answer really doesn't cover it.

Privacy defaults are almost never in your favor on these platforms. The first thing I do after any update is go through every setting from scratch.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Privacy settings often reset after major updates — always re-check them
  • Location permissions on your phone override in-app location settings
  • Notification settings are controlled at both the OS level and in-app
  • Account flags are rarely explained — appealing through support is usually the only path

Currently using Datewander as my main go-to and it's been reliable. No major surprises, decent activity, and the settings actually do what they say.

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.

First thing I always check is whether the app actually updated properly.

Let me share what I learned from going through this myself. Currently Datescout is what I'd recommend to someone dealing with this specific situation. Take what applies and leave the rest.

The landscape changes so fast. Advice from six months ago sometimes doesn't apply.

Went through the same thing not long ago. Here's what actually worked. The big apps — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — all have quirks that take some getting used to. Someone in another thread mentioned Ezhookups.online as a good alternative. General feedback was positive for what you're describing. Just my experience — your setup may vary.

Same situation here. Would love to see what others suggest.
