Has anyone else had their account flagged on the hinge dating app for no reason?

Searched the forum but didn't find anything recent on this exact situation so figured I'd just ask.

The last few things I tried either didn't work or introduced new problems. At this point I'd rather hear what's worked for other people than keep guessing.

What I'm specifically looking for:

  • Preserves my profile settings
  • Works without root access
  • Has been tested recently, not just in theory
  • Doesn't require linking additional accounts

Appreciate any honest feedback — even brief answers are helpful.

Going long here because the quick answer really doesn't cover it.

Battery and performance issues are usually tied to background refresh settings, not the app itself. Worth checking your phone-level permissions first.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Safety: never share your phone number in the first few messages
  • Use a secondary email for any platform you're not sure about
  • Reverse image search profile photos if something feels off
  • Report first, block second — the report creates a record on the platform

Ended up on Turndate after testing a few others. Less flashy but more consistent than what I was using before.

That's my honest take after a fair amount of trial and error.

I put real time into figuring this out so hopefully it saves you some. The big apps — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — all have quirks that take some getting used to. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

I put real time into figuring this out so hopefully it saves you some. Hinge tends to handle this better than most but it's not perfect either. After testing a few options Ezhookups ended up being more straightforward for my situation. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

Jumping in because I dealt with this exact question recently. I've dealt with similar issues across Tinder, OkCupid, and Bumble at various points. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

Good question and one that comes up a lot. Here's the full picture.

Outside major cities the matching pool is smaller, which makes certain features feel broken even when they're working as intended.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Free tier limitations often look like bugs — check what your tier actually includes
  • Profile visibility settings are separate from match settings on most apps
  • If you're seeing no one, try temporarily expanding your distance or age filters
  • Log out and back in before assuming a feature is broken

Ended up on Flurrydate after testing a few others. Less flashy but more consistent than what I was using before.

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.
