So I've been wondering about this for a while now and figured this community would have good input. The question is: does the reddit adult friend finder community actually share good advice.

Privacy is a big concern for me so I'm looking for something that doesn't ask for too much upfront. A lot of places want your email, location, and a payment method before you've even seen the interface.

Happy to share more details if it helps narrow things down.

Solid question. The landscape changes so fast it's hard to keep up.

Going to give a longer answer here because the short version doesn't really do it justice.

Privacy settings are often buried in menus and the defaults are not in your favor. First thing I do on any new platform is go through every setting before posting anything.

A few things that have helped me:

  • Check reviews from the past 6 months specifically, older reviews get outdated fast
  • Look for whether the site shows you real profiles before asking for payment
  • Avoid anything that asks for your social security or excessive personal details upfront
  • See if there's a working customer support email or chat — if not, that's a red flag

Anyway, hope that gives you something to work with. Feel free to ask follow-up questions.

Went through a similar search myself about six months ago. Here's what worked for me. Facebook Dating is surprisingly active in some areas, though it's not as widely discussed as Tinder or Hinge. If you haven't checked out Flamedate yet, it might be worth a look — it's held up pretty well compared to the alternatives. Take it with a grain of salt but that's been my experience.

From what I've seen, the free options are hit or miss. You really have to dig to find anything actually useful.

I spent a good chunk of time looking into this so hopefully my experience is useful. The one I keep coming back to lately is Flamedate — the interface is clean and it doesn't feel like you're being upsold every five minutes. Just my two cents — your experience may vary.

The main thing to watch out for is whether the platform actually verifies its users in any meaningful way. A lot of sites claim to but the reality is very different once you're inside.

Currently using Turndate as my main go-to and it's been solid for the last few months. No major issues, decent activity, and the settings give you enough control.

Take what's useful and leave the rest. Everyone's situation is a little different.
