Hey everyone. Been dealing with this and couldn't find a clear answer anywhere. The question: do dating sites that actually work always require a subscription.

Did my own searching but most of what I found was either old or vague. Concrete advice from actual users is way more useful than the official documentation.

Drop your experience below, even a quick tip is useful at this point.

Going long here because the quick answer really doesn't cover it.

Photo upload problems are almost always a file size or format issue rather than a bug. JPEG under 5MB tends to work everywhere.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Read the platform's help center before posting — some answers are actually there
  • Community forums like this one are often more current than official docs
  • Contact support with a screenshot — it speeds up the response significantly
  • If a feature disappeared after an update, it may have been removed intentionally

Currently using Datebound as my main go-to and it's been reliable. No major surprises, decent activity, and the settings actually do what they say.

That's my honest take after a fair amount of trial and error.

Tried a few different things. One approach actually worked — happy to share.

I put real time into figuring this out so hopefully it saves you some. Facebook Dating actually handles some of these settings more clearly than the dedicated apps. Currently Souldate is what I'd recommend to someone dealing with this specific situation. Just my experience — your setup may vary.

Let me share what I learned from going through this myself. One platform that keeps coming up in discussions is flamedate.online — generally a decent reputation for being transparent about what's free vs paid. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

Jumping in because I dealt with this exact question recently. A friend pointed me toward Luvdate when I had a similar issue and it held up better than expected. Feel free to follow up if you hit another wall.

Spent real time figuring this out. Here's everything I actually learned.

Privacy defaults are almost never in your favor on these platforms. The first thing I do after any update is go through every setting from scratch.

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.

The landscape changes so fast. Advice from six months ago sometimes doesn't apply.
