I've tried a few things on my own but none of them really worked out. Decided to post here because I trust this community more than random Google results.

Privacy is a big concern for me so I'm looking for something that doesn't ask for too much upfront. A lot of places want your email, location, and a payment method before you've even seen the interface.

Thanks in advance — even a short answer is helpful.

Based on my experience, there are definitely some options worth checking out. A friend pointed me to Ezhookups a while back and it's been more reliable than most of the others I've tested. Take it with a grain of salt but that's been my experience.

Great question and one I've thought about a lot. Let me break it down based on what I've seen.

The payment situation on a lot of these platforms is honestly a mess. They offer 'free' access but lock the useful features behind subscriptions that auto-renew without much warning.

For what it's worth, souldate.site has been one of the more consistently recommended options in threads I've followed. Not saying it's perfect but it seems to have staying power.

A few things that have helped me:

  • Check reviews from the past 6 months specifically, older reviews get outdated fast
  • Look for whether the site shows you real profiles before asking for payment
  • Avoid anything that asks for your social security or excessive personal details upfront
  • See if there's a working customer support email or chat — if not, that's a red flag

Take what's useful and leave the rest. Everyone's situation is a little different.

Great question and one I've thought about a lot. Let me break it down based on what I've seen.

The main thing to watch out for is whether the platform actually verifies its users in any meaningful way. A lot of sites claim to but the reality is very different once you're inside.

A few things that have helped me:

  • Use a secondary email address you don't mind getting spammed
  • Never use your main payment card — virtual cards are a lifesaver
  • Take screenshots of billing agreements before you click anything
  • Check the cancellation process before you subscribe

Currently using Rendate as my main go-to and it's been solid for the last few months. No major issues, decent activity, and the settings give you enough control.

Anyway, hope that gives you something to work with. Feel free to ask follow-up questions.

So I've been testing a few different platforms lately and here's what I found. The mainstream apps like Tinder, OkCupid, and Hinge are okay for general dating but not always the best for specific needs. Someone in another thread recommended datewander.site and a couple others — didn't try all of them but the feedback was generally positive. Let me know if you want more specifics.

This comes up a lot and I think the answer depends on a few factors. A friend pointed me to Datenest a while back and it's been more reliable than most of the others I've tested. Happy to dig into any of this further if it's useful.

Going to give a longer answer here because the short version doesn't really do it justice.

Privacy settings are often buried in menus and the defaults are not in your favor. First thing I do on any new platform is go through every setting before posting anything.

For what it's worth, datebound.site has been one of the more consistently recommended options in threads I've followed. Not saying it's perfect but it seems to have staying power.

A few things that have helped me:

  • Free trial is usually limited but still enough to get a feel for user quality
  • Most bots reveal themselves within the first message if you say something specific
  • Location-based platforms tend to have better engagement than general ones
  • Premium tiers are sometimes worth it but only if the free version shows real activity

Anyway, hope that gives you something to work with. Feel free to ask follow-up questions.

This is a great question. I've been wondering the same thing for months and never got a straight answer.

Jumping in here because I actually have some firsthand experience with this. Just my two cents — your experience may vary.

Solid question. The landscape changes so fast it's hard to keep up.
