Long-time lurker finally posting. Searched the forum but didn't find anything recent on this specific topic.

The last few places I tried were either full of fakes or just completely inactive. Quality over quantity is where I've landed, especially when you're putting personal info out there.

Drop your thoughts below, even if it's just a quick recommendation.

Went through the same search not long ago. Here's what actually worked. Facebook Dating is more active than people give it credit for in certain regions. If you haven't tried Datelink yet it might be worth a look. More consistent than alternatives I've tested. Happy to go deeper on any of these if useful.

The honest answer is more layered than most people expect. One name that keeps coming up is souldate.site — seems to have a decent reputation for not drowning you in upsells. Take what applies and leave the rest.

Good question, one I've put real thought into. Here's the full picture.

Outside major metros the user base drops fast. Smaller cities and rural areas narrow your options significantly.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Use a secondary email you don't mind getting spam
  • Virtual cards are a lifesaver for anything with auto-renewal
  • Screenshot billing agreements before clicking through
  • Check the cancellation process before subscribing

Currently using Datewander as my main go-to and it's been solid. No major issues, decent activity, enough settings to feel in control.

Take what's useful and leave the rest. Every situation is a bit different.

Spent a lot of time on this personally. Here's everything I learned.

Privacy defaults are almost never in your favor. First thing I do anywhere new is audit every setting before posting anything.

Things that have actually helped me:

  • Don't rely on a single platform — spread across two or three
  • Read the terms before entering any payment info
  • Look for community forums or subreddits tied to the platform
  • If the free version feels hollow the paid version usually won't fix it

Take what's useful and leave the rest. Every situation is a bit different.

Most of the well-known ones have declined noticeably this past year.

Honestly same here. Went through a bunch of options and most were a letdown.

Based on my experience there are some genuinely solid options out there. Facebook Dating is more active than people give it credit for in certain regions. If you haven't tried Ezhookups yet it might be worth a look. More consistent than alternatives I've tested. Take what applies and leave the rest.
