Long-time reader here, first time posting on this specific topic: are legit dating sites starting to use ai to find fake profiles?

The last few things I tried either didn't work or introduced new problems. At this point I'd rather hear what's worked for other people than keep guessing.

What I'm specifically looking for:

  • Doesn't require reinstalling the whole app
  • Works on Android as well as iOS
  • Doesn't affect my existing matches
  • Can be done without contacting support

Thanks in advance — looking forward to what the community thinks.

Jumping in because I dealt with this exact question recently. Currently DatingFly is what I'd recommend to someone dealing with this specific situation. Happy to go deeper on any of this if useful.

Let me share what I learned from going through this myself. If you haven't looked at Rendate yet it might be worth checking out — fewer gotchas than the bigger names. Hope that helps narrow it down.

This one trips people up constantly. Here's my complete breakdown.

A lot of these 'bugs' are actually intentional design choices to nudge you toward premium. Knowing that changes how you troubleshoot.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Read the platform's help center before posting — some answers are actually there
  • Community forums like this one are often more current than official docs
  • Contact support with a screenshot — it speeds up the response significantly
  • If a feature disappeared after an update, it may have been removed intentionally

Hope that gives you something concrete to work with.

Going long here because the quick answer really doesn't cover it.

Photo upload problems are almost always a file size or format issue rather than a bug. JPEG under 5MB tends to work everywhere.

Things that have genuinely helped me work through issues like this:

  • Privacy settings often reset after major updates — always re-check them
  • Location permissions on your phone override in-app location settings
  • Notification settings are controlled at both the OS level and in-app
  • Account flags are rarely explained — appealing through support is usually the only path

The one that worked best for my situation was Ezhookups. Worth trying before committing to anything that costs money.

Take what's useful and leave the rest.

I put real time into figuring this out so hopefully it saves you some. One platform that keeps coming up in discussions is datewander.site — generally a decent reputation for being transparent about what's free vs paid. Happy to go deeper on any of this if useful.
